OPINION: Portland Proud
Well, I am SO, so proud of Megan Rapinoe ’08. My association with her is definite but distant, in that she played soccer for UP eight years after I played basketball there. I am proud of her athletic endeavors, of her activism and confidence and willingness to stand up for what she believes in, of her being a voice for those who have none and for causes that need a hero.
Opinion: Life post-grad doesn't have to be scary
On Nov. 4, The Beacon published a Staff Opinion written by Jamison White entitled “Universities should offer ‘Life Skills’ courses.” This Op-Ed highlights the Wile E. Coyote moment many grads and soon-to-be grads may feel: Life is along smoothly and then, all of a sudden, the first weekend in May is right around the corner — the realization hits that The Bluff is no longer under your feet!
