In honor of Veteran's Day on Monday, Army and Air Force ROTC organized their annual 24-hour vigil with a ceremony held on Sunday to commemorate the end of it. The Beacon spoke to several members of ROTC about what the ceremony means to them.
VIDEO: UP students play Overrated/Underrated
Do you think that the squirrels living on UP’s campus deserve more appreciation? Do you think that Fortnite is not that special? The Beacon wanted to know students’ opinions on everything from the new Pilot House burgers to the views from the Bluff, so we sent Community Engagement Editor Natalie Nygren and videographer David Jacobs, to ask students to rate six things as overrated or underrated. VIDEO: Did you vote? Midterm elections conclude Tuesday
With only one day until the midterm elections conclude, The Beacon went around campus to ask students whether or not they voted. Millennials make up a third of eligible voters, so we wanted to see how many millennials on campus have casted their votes. Some states, like Oregon, are seeing a historic turnout for this year’s midterm election. There is still one more day to turn in your ballots
Staff Opinion: Think before you Snap
Snapchat is fundamentally addictive and negative for my peer group. Here’s why: A few weeks ago, I decided to attempt to quit using Snapchat. I find the app extremely distracting, and thought it would be beneficial if I stopped using it. However, I soon found that quitting Snapchat was more difficult than I thought.
