On Sept. 27, nine former Pilots were inducted into the 2024 UP Athletics Hall of Fame for their athletic achievements. These former Pilots — Angie Woznuk Kerr, Tansey Lystad Hensley, Kory Casto, Megan Rapinoe, Eugene “Pooh” Jeter, Michelle Enyeart, David Kinsella, Lucia Butkovska and Professor Robert Duff — were honored during halftime of the men’s soccer game vs. Sacramento State before their induction at a ceremony at Beauchamp Recreation and Wellness Center. UP’s Campus Program Board welcomed students to Bikini Bottom on Friday night. Riverboat 2024 was sponge-inspired, smile-inducing and full of bubbles. Even more exciting than the dunk tank and krabby patties was the fact that Riverboat was at River Campus this year. Students bounced in an inflatable pirate ship, played games, and danced the night away.

The 'Smash the Bluff' event, hosted by KDUP, brought students together for an unforgettable evening full of music. Held in the Saint Mary's Center, the event showcased music from Zyanna, As Above and Backseat Plastic. Smash the Bluff was full of amazing local artists, student vendors, exclusive merch, and an energy-packed atmosphere.

The University of Portland's fashion club, "We Wore That," hosted its second annual fashion show on April 14th. The theme "About Time" showcased fashion's evolution throughout the decades. Talented student designers and models brought the past and present to life on the runway. Beyond the runway, attendees immersed themselves in the fashionable festivities, exploring curated vintage and new vendor stalls. A glimpse of which is captured in these photos from the celebration of style.

After months of gloomy clouds and heavy rain, the sun finally popped out. Spring has sprung here in Portland. Check out how the UP campus comes alive with the turning of the seasons, vibrant with blossoming trees, sunny skies, and smiling students. Vibrant pink and white flowers adorn the trees, casting a cheerful glow over the pathways. Students stroll across the green lawns, enjoying the warm weather and blooming scenery. The University of Portland's Hawaiʻi Club hosted its 46th annual Lūʻau on Saturday, offering a celebration of Hawaiian culture complete with games, food, dancing, and live music. Attendees were able to immerse themselves in the rich heritage and vibrant energy of Hawaiʻi through this longstanding campus tradition.

Last Wednesday, April 4th, University of Portland's First Lady Bridget Turner Kelly, PhD, and co-editor Sharon Fries-Britt, hosted a special book signing event at the Campus Bookstore. Kelly read excerpts from her new edited volume, Black Women Navigating the Doctoral Journey, and met with attendees to sign copies of the book. Her co-editor, Sharon Fries-Britt, was also there to meet attendees. It was a wonderful opportunity for the community to engage with this impactful work and connect with the author.
