The votes are in for the 2025-26 Associated Students of the University of Portland (ASUP) Senate elections.

Fourteen students competed for positions this spring, but only two races — the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and senior class seats — were contested, according to ASUP Vice President Stephanie Vasquez.

Each candidate was required to secure at least 10% of their constituency’s vote for the election to be valid. The election drew 323 voters, resulting in an overall turnout of 11.72%.

Two write-in candidates won seats representing the Shiley School of Engineering and the School of Education, and a run-off election will determine the senior class representative on April 8 and 9, with candidates Mason Dinsmore and Vivian Martin still in the running for the remaining seat.

Below is the list of elected senators:

Sophomore class: Giovanni Vaz, Perla Moina Nuñez

Junior class: Rehema Baleke

Senior class: Rosana Gutierrez

College of Arts and Sciences: Shane Ruyle, Max Hanely

Pamplin School of Business: Zachary Ng, Emma Nutterfield

School of Education: Catalina Quintana

School of Nursing and Health Innovations: Noelle Hurley, Nmachukwu Ukaegbu

Shiley School of Engineering: Norbert Ramos, Christian Lobaton

Editor's note: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that there are two new School of Education senators.
