On March 12, 2025, Bre Norris, a former Pilots women’s soccer goalkeeper, signed a roster relief contract with Angel City Football Club (ACFC) through June 30, 2025. Norris played for the Pilots from 2021-24 and had an extremely successful career defending the goals on Merlo Field.
Following her time in Portland, Norris joined ACFC, a professional soccer team that plays in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), for their 2025 preseason as a trialist. In a press release, she expressed her gratitude and her excitement about her signing.
“I am so grateful to be joining Angel City,” Norris said. “Starting this preseason as a trialist, I was welcomed into the best training environment and culture I have gotten to be a part of.”
While still a Pilot player, Norris spoke of the work it would take to turn her dreams into reality.
“My goal is to go pro, and in order to do that, every single aspect of my game has to be better,” Norris said. “I need to be confident in how hard I’ve worked to be where I’m at…”
Norris holds several records for the Pilots including being the all-time saves leader with a total of 279. During her senior season with the Pilots, Norris led the West Coast Conference (WCC) with 79 total saves. She earned recognition as goalkeeper of the year for the WCC twice in a row in 2023 and 2024 making her the first in Pilots history to do so. She was also named to the 2023 and 2024 WCC First Team.
The Pilots have had 27 players, including Norris, from the women’s soccer program advance to play professionally. Norris has solidified her legacy as a Pilot and will be remembered as one of the best to defend the net.
Norris said she can’t wait to start playing at the club.
“I am looking forward to continuing learning from the team and this incredible goalkeeper group,” Norris said. “I’m honored to call LA home and excited for what’s to come.”
