On Feb. 9, the Chapel of Christ the Teacher will be hosting its first-ever Spanish-language Mass.
The service will be held at 1 p.m. and will continue bimonthly at the same time on the second and fourth Sundays of February, March and April.
According to Director of Campus Ministry Tim Weed, student interest for Mass in Spanish sparked the initiative.
“If someone is most comfortable praying in a particular language, then it's Campus Ministry's responsibility to see how we can facilitate that,” Weed said.
For Weed, adding this service option accurately reflects the diversity found in UP’s student body.
“The diversity that we have here on our campus can be a great source of our unity as well,” Weed said. “Because it allows us to be much more authentic to who we are.”
