The Clark Library will be extending its hours until 2 a.m. from Dec. 10 through Dec. 12.
The Associated Students of the University of Portland (ASUP) created a bill to allocate funds from the ASUP discretionary fund to help pay student workers for working the extended hours of 12 a.m. to 2 a.m.
“We were helping to basically ease the burden on the library due to budget cuts,” junior class senator Benjamin Gregory DiGregorio said. “So if it was something that the students wanted, they could have done it anyways. We just made it an easier thing for the library to actually do.”
Students will need their student IDs for building access after 8 p.m.
To commemorate the end of the semester, ASUP will be providing late night snacks on Dec. 11 starting at 10 p.m. according to Karel Farfan, ASUP director of communications.
“ASUP is here to support students by directing them to resources or also just by being able to be there to destress, and we wish them all good luck on their finals and safe travels back home,” Farfan said.
