There's a new team on campus — one that won’t be wearing Pilot-purple, anchor emblazoned jerseys. The Portland Trail Blazers G League affiliate team the Rip City Remix are coming to the Chiles Center. Read on for essential info on the NBA G League, The Remix’s schedule, tickets and more.

For any baseball fans out there, you can think of the NBA G League as the farm system or minor leagues of professional basketball. The league comprises 30 active G League teams, 28 of which are affiliated with an NBA team. G League teams serve as an environment for player development and are impactful assets to their NBA affiliates with 54% of players on current NBA rosters having had G League experience.

The Rip City Remix are the Portland Trail Blazers' very own G League affiliate team. Previously, the Blazers were one of two NBA teams without affiliate G League teams and had been pulling from the Sacramento Kings’ affiliate in Stockton, California and the Clippers’ affiliate in Ontario, Canada for new talent.

The Remix’s regular season began Friday, Nov. 10 with an away game at the South Bay Lakers and runs through Saturday, March 30. The South Bay Lakers will head up to Portland for The Remix’s home opener on Nov. 17 with a 5 p.m. PST tipoff. Themed games for Remix fans will include Pride Night on Jan. 24 and Pickleball Night on March 15. The full inaugural season schedule for The Rip City Remix can be found here.

In terms of postseason play, G League teams are split into two conferences, Eastern and Western, with the top six teams in each conference making it to the NBA G League Playoffs. If The Remix make the playoffs, they will begin postseason play in mid-to-late March as is typical for the G League.

For students at the University, professional adjacent basketball has never been more accessible. The Remix will play all home games at the Chiles Center on the University’s campus. Ticketing is also more accessible than your average Portland Blazers game with prices for the season home opener ranging from $10-$150 for the Nov. 17 game. $5 tickets for children 12 and under are also available for select areas of Chiles. If you’d rather not venture out for a game however, all home games for The Remix will be aired on Fox 12 Plus. Information on how to find the channel in your specific area can be found here.

In a Nov. 13 press release, The Remix released their opening night roster, introducing viewers to players they can expect to see on the court.
