The men’s and women’s cross country teams finished third overall at the WCC championships

Through the pouring rain, both the men’s and women’s teams finished third at the WCC cross-country championships in Portland on Oct. 28. 

The men’s side raced an 8k at Fernhill Park in Portland where Redshirt freshman Bradley Peloquin came in 10th overall and was the first Pilot to finish with his finishing time of 22:22.7.

Redshirt sophomore Matt Strangio was third for the pilots and 13th overall with a time of 22:35.7. His teammate, graduate student Zak Kirk, was the third Pilot to finish and was 16th overall with a time of 22:47.6. 

Overall the men’s team finished behind Gonzaga and BYU. 

Along the same course, the women’s side raced a 6k. For the Pilots, sophomore Laura Pellicoro, came in second overall with a time of 19:50.7.

Following her was graduate student Courtney Klatt who came in tenth overall with a time of 20:25.7. 

Lastly, Sophomore Mie Nielsen, was the third pilot to finish, coming in 23rd with a time of 21:10.0. In the end, UP finished behind San Francisco and BYU. 

The next race for the Pilots will be at the NCAA West Regional in Washington on Nov. 11
