A perfect escape from the Portland rain, these warm treats will satisfy your sweet tooth — and they’re perfect for sharing. Break up the monotony of weekly classes by grabbing some friends and heading to your kitchen, or nearest dorm basement, for a rewarding activity that’s sure to make everyone smile in a sugar-induced haze.

A slice of warm marbled pound cake covered in a sweet chocolate glaze is enough to make anyone forget about their worries. Try this worthwhile recipe that has captured the art of baking pound cake from scratch. Using this recipe, filled with tips and tricks, I was able to create what is easily one of the best pound cakes I’ve tried to date. The best part about it: you can disguise this loaf as a breakfast item — if banana bread can do it, so can we.

Ditch the chocolate chips for this more experimental recipe. These blondies are perfect for a chilly Valentine’s weekend — and more effective than any love potion out there. Sweet strawberries and tangy lemon juice never baked together this well. From an incredibly easy recipe, these blondies came out perfect on the first try and were an absolute favorite for their sweet taste and addictive fruity flavor.
