Office of Residence Life and Public Safety are hosting an informational meeting Thursday evening for off-campus students. The event will cover how to have safe living habits off-campus — a relevant topic with the recent spike in off-campus thefts in the university neighborhood.
Gerry Gregg, director of Public Safety, will give tips for safe living off-campus, including ideas for student property protection and ideas to protect students’ personal safety. The event will take place in The Commons at 7 p.m.
Attendees will be entered for a raffle for Fred Meyer gift cards, and will be given free pizza.
Gregg hopes students will attend to learn about preventative measures they can perform to protect themselves and their belongings.
“We have to remember that a large part of our UP community lives in the neighborhood around us,” Gregg said. “And an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”
