River Campus parking lot has yet to relieve on-campus parking challenges

Parking on the UP campus can be a chore. It’s not uncommon to arrive at noon and see endless cars circling the main parking lot just hoping to catch a spot as some other student leaves. What could be a sign of the university’s growing student population gave rise to the launch of a new parking lot on the River Campus, announced in an email to students by Director of Public Safety Gerry Gregg earlier this year. It remains to be seen whether students will actually use the new lot due to its distance from campus.
