Let’s face it: when you’re struggling with the conclusion to your history essay at 2 a.m., you will probably start mindlessly scrolling through Twitter. I could tell you to get off social media and focus, but instead I’ll help make your procrastination a little more entertaining and informative. After all, some of the best tweets on the internet revolve around life on The Bluff. Or should I say, #thebluff.

1. @UPortland
We’ll start obvious. The official UP account tweets frequently, sharing everything from announcements of upcoming speakers on campus to shots of students' spring fashion. Make them happy by tweeting your scenic shots of cherry blossoms or the bell tower.
2. @CoachReveno
You know Coach Rev best as the head coach of our men’s basketball team, but he is also something of a celebrity on Twitter, frequently tweeting sports and life inspiration or taking issue with some NCAA rules and regulations.
3. @UPPickups
There are only 26 days left in the semester, and chances are you have not worked up the courage to talk to that someone you always see at Howard Hall. While hoping to run into them has made you surprisingly fit, you’re still single. Fortunately, @UPPickups gets it, and they’re here to help you break the ice. While this is possibly the most practical suggestion on this list, it's not for the easily offended.
4. @UPCareers
Let UP’s Career Services help you find an answer to the most dreaded of questions: “what are you doing after graduation?” They tweet local internship opportunities, links to articles with job hunting or resume building advice and information about career related events and opportunities on campus.
5. @UPBananas
@UPbananas is like a horrific accident. You have no desire to actually see hundreds of pictures of Pilots eating bananas, but you can’t stop scrolling. Its creativity and weirdness has captured the fascination of the campus, making them list-worthy.
6. @UPBeacon
I couldn’t leave your favorite student newspaper off the list. We read every tweet directed at us, so send us your story ideas and suggestions. Also, may I humbly suggest to @UPPickups that “did you see that story in The Beacon?” is proven to be the most effective pickup line on The Bluff?
While I’m shamelessly self-promoting anyway, I’ll throw out @UPBeaconSports. With game coverage and the scoop on your favorite Pilot athletes brought straight to your iPhone, this one is an obvious follow.
