A male student was hit by a car at the crosswalk outside the main entrance of the University of Portland around 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to Public Safety Dispatcher Chris Drewery.
The student was hit by a driver going south on Willamette Blvd. as they were pulling into the UP driveway. Drewery could not release the name of the student, and did not know his grade or the identity of the driver.
The student was reported to be conscious after the collision, but was transported to Legacy Emanuel Hospital to have his injuries evaluated.
The crosswalk lost its flashing lights in the center of the street after another car collision in November, during which no one was hurt.
