Shuttles to and from the River Campus parking lot begin Monday Oct. 3, according to Vice President of University Operations Jim Ravelli.

The 108-space lot will be available for students, staff and faculty use during the daytime and does not require a parking pass. The lot is not intended for overnight parkers.

Rides are available for both students and faculty and staff.

Shuttles will run Monday through Friday from the main parking lot behind the Pilot House to River Campus from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and again from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The shuttle will stop at Fields and Schoenfeldt Hall and the Beauchamp Center on the way to the lot.

Additionally, P-Safe will be on-call to provide rides to and from the lot when the shuttle is not running. P-Safe can be reached at 503-943-7161.

The lot can be accessed via McCosh St., which is the last turn on the right at the end of Portsmouth Ave.

Student workers hired by Public Safety will operate the University vehicles.

“One of the things we are going to continue to work on is how to provide additional incentives for folks to use (the lot),” Ravelli said. “We want to see how this is going to go, so we will see how uptake is and take the feedback people give us to further develop the program.”
